FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship in numbers

BENGALURU (FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship 2017) - The FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship 2017 tips-off tomorrow. Fiba.basketball went in depth into its archives to tell the story of the tournament's past.

147 - The most points scored by one team in a single game as Chinese Taipei beat Singapore 147-20 in 2009.

127 - The biggest winning margin in tournament history - in Chinese Taipei's 147-20 victory over Singapore in 2009.

111.4 - The average number of points scored by China in the 2009 tournament - the highest average for a team in the competition's history.

33 - The most points scored in a single game by a player as Tsai Hsin Chen tallied 33 points in 2009 against Philippines. The performance is one of six times a player scored at least 30 points in a game. 

30 - The number of times at least 100 points have been scored by one team in a single game. All of them have been done by China, Chinese Taipei, Japan or Korea. There were 13 such games in 2009, nine in 2011, five in 2013 and three in 2015.

11 - The number of consecutive victories at the FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship for China since losing to Japan 75-59 in the Group Phase of the 2013 edition. China captured the U16 title in 2013 and 2015 during the current winning streak.

9 - The fewest points scored by a team in a game as Japan eased past Sri Lanka 120-9 in 2009.

6 - The lowest winning margin by China, Chinese Taipei, Japan or Korea against the rest of Asia. Thailand lost to Korea just 80-74 in 2015. Thailand also lost to Chinese Taipei by just 11 points - 81-70 - in 2015. And Thailand also hold the third closest margin of 20 points in a 78-58 defeat against Korea in 2009.

Japan's two wins both came in the Group Phase (2011 and 2013) while China won all three encounters with Japan in the FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship Final (2009, 2013 and 2015). The other Chinese victory came in the 2015 Group Phase.

1 - The number of combined victories in U16 Asia history by Chinese Taipei and Korea against China and Japan. Korea beat China in the 2011 Semi-Finals as their one win in a 1-11 record while Chinese Taipei are 0-12 against the two Asian powers.

0 - The number of FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship hosts who have managed to win the title at home. India finished sixth at 3-3 in 2009, Sri Lanka were last at 0-5 in 2013 and Indonesia were eighth in 2015 at 3-3. But China lost to Korea in the 2011 Semi-Finals and took third place at 5-2 while Japan ended up winning the crown.
