    U16 Asia coaches take part in coaching clinic in Foshan

    FOSHAN (FIBA U16 Asia Championship) - A number of coaches had the chance to learn from each other at the Asian Youth Basketball Coaching Workshop held in conjunction with the FIBA U16 Asia Championship.

    FOSHAN (FIBA U16 Asia Championship) - A number of coaches had the chance to learn from each other at the Asian Youth Basketball Coaching Workshop held in conjunction with the FIBA U16 Asia Championship.

    The clinic was held from on 5 April and included the head coaches and assistant coaches of the participating teams in the tournament. It was hosted by FIBA Executive Director Hagop Khajirian, coach Nenad Hrvoic and Japan U16 coach Torsten Loibl.

    The participating coaches had the chance to share and exchange their experiences from their respective countries and programs. The discussions revolved around the development of youth basketball in Asia, having for the first time Australia and New Zealand in the tournament, selection of talents for the national pools and the scouting of teams.

    “The workshop was very beneficial to all participants who were able to express and share their opinion about the development of youth basketball in Asia,” said coach Nenad.

    At the end of the clinic, there was a greater appreciation for the growth and direction of Asia youth basketball. The experienced also fostered bonds and deepened the camaraderie among the different coaches in the FIBA U16 Asia Championship.
