"Rising of Dragon" revealed as FIBA U16 Asian Championship logo

BEIJING (FIBA U16 Asian Championship) - The best cadets in Asia will be playing under the logo of the "Rising of Dragon" when they compete in the FIBA U16 Asian Championship later this spring in Foshan, China.

The logo and brand identity of the competition was unveiled ahead of next month's draw ceremony, and the host country China is a strong inspiration in the logo's design.

The organizers used the color red in the logo on behalf of China to symbolize that the event is being held in China for the first time. The gold coloring in the logo represents sunlight and hope while the blue part was inspired by the Pacific Ocean.

The orange coloring means youth, hope and energy while the Chinese dragon surrounding the basketball is on behalf of "the rising of Dragon”.

There will be 13 teams competing in the tournament, which runs from April 2-8 in the southeastern city of Foshan. The tournament will serve as Asia's qualifier for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018, with the top four finishers booking their tickets for the world spectacle in Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina from June 30-July 8, 2018.

The 13 teams which will compete are hosts China, reigning champions Korea, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand and Philippines.
