Do you remember these magical showdowns in U16 Asian history?

BEIRUT (FIBA U16 Asian Championship) - The FIBA U16 Asian Championship has already created a fair share of highlights which will be remembered for all time. Sit back and relax as we take you down Memory Lane for three of the best individual showdowns in the history of the competition.

India vs Korea - October 23, 2011

India had an 0-1 record in the second round of group play after grabbing two wins in the Preliminary Round. Next up was Korea, who had not lost in the first four games in Nha Trang City, Vietnam.

Coming into the contest, Bhamara Satnam Singh had picked up just 34 points total in the first four games. But there was magic in the air in Vietnam that afternoon as the Indian big man exploded for 41 points in trying to keep India in the game - even leading 34-31 at the break

But Heo Hoon would not allow the upset to happen and he poured in 31 points of his own and Korea went on to win 76-68. Korea would eventually take second place in the second FIBA U16 Asian Championship while India were 10th.

Singh would go on to score 32 points, 21 and 29 in his final three games, finishing with 19.6 points per game. The India game was Heo's best showing of the tournament and the Korea guard ended up averaging 13.2 points a game.

China vs Japan - October 3, 2013

There was anticipation in the air in Tehran as China and Japan were facing off in the Semi-Finals of the FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2013. Not only would the winner reach the Final but they would also book their ticket to the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup - an event that Japan had missed the first two times around.

China came ready for the showdown and built a 32-21 lead after 10 minutes and the gap was 21 points at halftime. And China won the third quarter as well in taking the game 99-78.

Hu Jinqiu was an unstoppable force in the paint for China, who out-rebounded Japan 63-38 with Hu grabbing 24 rebounds on his own to go with 22 points and five blocks. On top of that was the long range shooting of Zhao Yanhao, who nailed five three-pointers in scoring 32 points. Japan's Rui Hachimura did all he could in collecting 25 points, eight rebounds and four blocks as his team's only reliable weapon.

China would go on to win their third straight U16 title while Japan bounced back to knock off Chinese Taipei 85-72 and claim third place - and that coveted third spot in the U17 World Cup.

Lebanon vs Korea - November 5, 2015

A spot in the last four was up for grabs as Lebanon faced off with Korea in the Quarter-Finals of the FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2015. Both teams came into the game with one loss - Lebanon losing against Chinese Taipei and Korea falling to China.

Jakarta was witness to a showdown for the ages as Korea were up six points after 10 minutes and led by 15 at the break. Karim Zeinoun fought to get Lebanon back into the game, cutting the gap to nine points after three quarters. But then Yang Jae Min and Korea took over, winning the third quarter 37-20 to grab a 105-79 victory.

Yang scored 36 points as he made 11-of-17 shots and 11-of-13 free throws while also picking up six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Zeinoun ended up 32 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Korea rode the victory all the way to their maiden FIBA U16 Asian Championship title while Lebanon finished sixth.
