Top 5 Players of the Quarter-Finals at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - The Quarter-Finals of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016 in Chenzhou-Hunan commenced today, and fans were treated to a higih level of excitement, action and intensity. Of course, it goes without saying that big time players came up with big time plays to lead their teams to the Semi-Finals.

FIBA.com presents the Top 5 performers from the Quarter-Finals.

Gerald Robinson
Al Shorta threatened Petrochimi in their knockout affair, but Robinson wouldn’t let his club get kicked out of contention. The 1.85m guard hit 12-of-17 from the field to go along with 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. His production was huge as the Iranians moved on as one of the final four teams of the tournament.

Preston Knowles
Knowles was nearly unstoppable in Al Rayyan’s game against hosts China Kashgar. Knowles unloaded 37 points on top of 9 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals, though he did shoot just 1-of-11 from beyond the arc. That clip would haunt Al Rayyan in the end as China rallied in the fourth period and overtime to turn the tables on Knowles and the Qataris.

Samuel Young
Young exploded for 40 points in Al Ahli’s victory over a gritty Pauian unit. Young hit 2 triples while also shooting 13-of-22 from the 2-point area. The 31-year-old also collared 8 rebounds, issued 4 assists and netted 2 steals. Young will need to play this well again if Al Ahli are to do the unthinkable and upset Al Riyadi.

Quincy Davis
Davis remained as not just the best big man of Pauian, but he has consistently played as one of the top two players of the entire competition. His 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists and 1 block paced Pauian in their ill-fated Quarter-Finals clash with victorious Al Ahli.

Zhou Qi
This was, by far, the best game for the youthful 2.17m center. He was efficient on both ends of the floor against Al Rayyan. Zhou hit 9 of his 14 field goals, finishing with a tournament-high 23 points. He also hauled down a dozen boards, had 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Needless to say, if Zhou can produce similar numbers in the Semi-Finals, China Kashgar should be able to move on to the Final.
