Games on the final day of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016: Sunday 16 October

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - It is the final day of hardcourt action here in Chenzhou-Hunan, China for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016! Here are the match ups for the two Classification Games, the battle for third place and the Final.

Barsy Atyrau v Al Rayyan

Both clubs have lost back-to-back the past few days, but they have also put up pretty tough stands against deeper opposition. Now they will contend for seventh place and salvage some pride as we reach the end of the tournament. Pavel Micheev has been a constant double-double threat for Barsy Atyrau, while Preston Knowles continues to be a top-scorer for Al Rayyan.

Pauian v Al Shorta

Justin Hawkins has been a beast for Al Shorta, and they will continue to rely on him here as they try to finis among the top five teams. Pauian have their own solid frontliner in Quincy Davis, and his match up with Hawkins should be the centerpieces of this affair. Import DeAndre Rice may prove to be the difference-maker in favor of the Iraqis, though.

Al Ahli v Petrochimi

Petrochimi are probably still stinging from the reversal of fortune they suffered at the hands of China Kashgar last night, but they hardly have any downtime as they take on Al Ahli for the final spot on the podium. The UAE squad lost steam against Al Riyadi yesterday, but with Samuel Young continue to wax hot, they have the capability to upset the fancied Iranians.

Al Riyadi v China Kashgar

It is only fitting that the two top seeds from each group and the two remaining unbeaten squads mix it up in the Final for all the marbles. That’s what we have here as Al Riyadi take on hosts China Kashgar. The Lebanese have been, by far, the most dominant club so far in this competition with imports Dewarwick Spencer and Alade Aminu putting up big numbers and the dynamic duo of Wael Arakji and Fadi El Khatib dominating in their own right. The Chinese, meanwhile, will lean on reinforcements Andray Blatche and Darius Adams as well as national pool members Li Gen, Zhou Qi, Makan Kelanbaike and Mugedaer Xirelijiang. Al Riyadi last won the title in 2011, while it has been an 18-year drought for any Chinese team
