TEHRAN (2016 FIBA Asia Challenge) - China, Chinese Taipei and Iran all remained unbeaten after Day 3 in the FIBA Asia Challenge 2016 in Tehran, Iran. Japan, meanwhile, barged into the win column by defeating Thailand.

FIBA.com takes a closer look at the Top 5 performers from Sunday’s games in Tehran.

Hu Jinqiu
Once again, this 18-year-old big man impressed for the Chinese. The 2.10m center was a tower of power for Team Dragon, putting up 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists on top of 7-of-9 field goal shooting as China powered past Kazakhstan. He will go up against better quality centers as the days go by, but he should still be able to continue his strong play for coach Li Nan.

Quincy Davis
Davis proved to be the difference-maker in Chinese Taipei’s win over gritty Philippines. Nobody from Gilas Pilipinas could really stop Davis, who scored 19 points and hauled down 16 rebounds. For sure, coach Yan Jia-Hwa will continue to rely on Davis as the Taipei squad hope to make a return trip to the Final.

Hamed Haddadi
Hadadi’s numbers won’t jump out at you like Hu’s and Davis’s, but the 2.18m slotman has been quietly dominant for hosts Iran. Haddadi struggled a little bit from the field against Iraq, shooting just 3-of-8, but he compensated by making all nine of his free throws in a 15-point, 5-rebound, 4-assist and 3-block effort.

Ira Brown
Japanese naturalized player Ira Brown may be an undersized frontcourt player at only 1.93m, but what he lacks in inches he more than makes up for in athleticism and effort. Brown recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals as Japan ran away with a win over SEABA side Thailand to enter the next phase with a 1-1 slate.

Arsalan Kazemi
The 26-year-old NBA draftee did a lot of the dirty work in Iran’s victory of regional rivals Iraq. Kazemi scored only 8 points in their win, but he padded his stat-line with 11 boards, 5 assists and 3 steals in a showcase of all-around brilliance. Like Haddadi, Kazemi has been a quiet star performer so far in this tournament.
