BUENOS AIRES (Argentina) - Argentina released a preselection of 15 players for final window of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers. The coach, Gabriel Piccato, will continue to lead the national team as he did in November, and this time he called in four potential newcomers.

"We decided to put together a list that could give continuity to the squad that participated well in the November FIBA window. We want to continue giving space to young people with projection, surrounding them with some experienced guys. Betting on the future without neglecting the present would be the synthesis," coach Piccato said in a statement. He will replace Sergio“ Oveja ”Hernández (work commitments in Spain) in office until the Olympic Games.

The group of athletes will gather on February 15, then 12 of them will travel to Cali, Colombia on the 18th.

Argentina, which shares the leadership of Group A with Venezuela, both with a 3-1 record, will play in the city of Cali, Colombia under a "bubble" format. On February 21 they will face Chile and on February 22 they will close against the host.

Argentina needs a win or a Chile or Colombia loss to secure their ticket to AmeriCup 2022.
