FIBA AmeriCup 2022 logo unveiled

MIAMI (United States) – The official logo of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022, to be hosted in Brazil, has been unveiled, marking a significant milestone for the event. The logo represents the culture and elements that distinguish Brazil, as well as the importance of the game.

The tournament trophy is the main feature of the logo with simple lines and a mixture of warm and cool tones, which represent Brazil’s famous Iguazú Falls. The base of the trophy silhouette shows off the blue waves of the country's world-famous beaches and the colors represent Brazil’s most famous festival, Carnival, along with the national colors of the country.

The logo pays homage to Beatriz Milhazes, a modernist artist who is considered the most successful painter in Brazil, recognized for highlighting the principle of collage and for her exhibitions in the most important galleries in the world.

"We are excited to reach this milestone on the road to the highly anticipated FIBA AmeriCup 2022. This logo is a beautiful representation of the event, and we look forward to seeing some great basketball action in Brazil this September," said FIBA Executive Director Americas Carlos Alves.

The FIBA AmeriCup 2022, which will be played between September 2 and 11, will bring together Americas best twelve men’s national teams. This edition of the continent's premier event will be hosted in Recife and Brasilia. The tournament returns to Brazil after last being hosted in Sao Paulo in 1984.
