Dominicans ready to take aim at AmeriCup final four
SANTO DOMINGO (FIBA AmeriCup 2017) - The Dominican Republic have settled on a 12-man roster that the country hopes will at least reach the last four of the FIBA AmeriCup 2017.
Among those included are Juan Coronado, Victor Liz and Edward Santana, three members of the tricolor side that reached the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

In the Group Phase of the AmeriCup, the Dominicans will play in Montevideo against Panama, hosts Uruguay and the USA.
"We understand that these 12 players make the best team possible," Dominican Republic coach Melvyn Lopez said.

"We recognize the great talent of the others that have not been included and encourage them to keep working in order to be included in the national team in the near future.
"We are aiming for this group to carry us to the Final Four of the AmeriCup, always concentrating on one game at a time. Our first challenge is against Uruguay (August 28) and it could be the most difficult so we are going to focus on them."
