"We have a strong group of athletes who are ready to compete in preparation for the FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship," said Head Coach Claire Meadows. "It is always an honor to be able to represent your country as we look to qualify a Canadian team to the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2019"
Following the end of the training period, the team will depart for Mexico City where the continental championship will tip-off on August 1.
Canada was drawn into Group B of the FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship 2018 along with Colombia, Mexico and El Salvador. The team coached by Claire Meadows will begin the continental championship against Colombia.
The teams will advance to the Quarter-Finals on August 5. The Semi-Finals will be played on August 6 and the Final on August 7.
The top-four teams from the FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship will qualify to the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2019.
