12-player roster selected, Argentina begin final stage of preparation for U18 Americas Championship
BUENOS AIRES (FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship 2018) – Leonardo Costa, head coach of the Argentinian U18 Women’s National Team, already defined the 12-players that will represent the country during the FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship 2018, from August 1-7 in Mexico City.

Argentina’s final stage of preparations for the continental championship will begin on July 14th with 7 players. The remaining players (Chagas, Acevedo, Gauna, Operto, Gentinetta) are scheduled to participate in the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018, and will join the preparations following their participation in the world competition.
Argentina was drawn into Group A of the FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship along with Puerto Rico, USA and Chile. The team coached by Costa will begin the Group Phase against USA, and will then face Puerto Rico and Chile.
All the participating teams will advance to the Quarter-Finals on August 5. The Semi-Finals will be played on August 6 and the Final on August 7.
The top four teams from the continental championship will qualify to the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2019.
