Puerto Rico begin preparations for U18 Americas Championship with 24-player pool
SAN JUAN (FIBA U18 Americas Championship 2018) – With the start of the FIBA U18 Americas Championship approaching fast, the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation (FBPUR) announced a 24-player preliminary pool for the continental championship, that will be played June 10-17 in St. Catharines, Canada.

"This year's edition of the U18 Americas Championship presents a very interesting roster of talented players. Our practices will begin this weekend with the players available. The rest of the players will join the preparations once they finish their academic years in the United States, "said Gonzalez.

Puerto Rico was drawn into Group A of the FIBA U18 Americas Championship and will face Panama at the opening day of the continental competition. The team coached by Omar Gonzalez will then face the Dominican Republic and USA to close-out the Group Phase of the championship.
The top four teams from the continental championship will qualify to the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2019.
