Who will go home, Who will stay alive in last day of Groups A and B?

KIGALI (Rwanda) - There will be a lot at stake on Saturday when teams in Groups A and B take to the floor at Kigali Arena for their last Group Phase games.

The winners of the two groups advance automatically to the Quarter-Finals while the teams that finish second and third will have a second chance to advance to the Last Eight by playing a qualifying round on Monday and Tuesday, where the second-placed team in Group A will play the third-place team in Group B and vice-versa. And, the teams that finish last in their groups will be eliminated.

Ahead of Saturday's games this is what the two groups look like:

Saturday's fixtures are as follows:

Group A:
DR Congo vs Angola (14:00 GMT+2)
Rwanda vs Cape Verde (17:00 GMT +2)

Group B:
Egypt vs Guinea (11:00 am GMT+2)
Tunisia vs Central African Republic (21:00 GMT+2)

As leaders of Group A with two wins in as many games, Rwanda are in control of their AfroBasket 2021 destiny. If they beat Cape Verde, they win the group undefeated, and move to the Quarter-Finals as group winners.

If Rwanda lose to Cape Verde, they will finish in the top-three places of their group, but their positioning will depend on the point-differential and other results.

Cape Verde's defeat against the DR Congo gave the latter a lifeline in Group A

The Angolans have their backs against the wall and face a must-win situation.

The former African champions must beat their neighbours of the DR Congo, but points differential will play a huge part in this group as both Cape Verde and DR Congo are currently tied at 1-1

Meanwhile, in Group B, reigning African Tunisia have demonstrated while they are set to defend their title after rallying from a 19-point deficit against Egypt to win 87-81 and improve their mark to 2-0.

One more win against the Central African Republic on Saturday, Tunisia will close their Group Phase journey at 3-0 and ensure an automatic ticket to the Last Eight.

Tunisia have shown a tremendous character after bouncing back from a 19-point to beat Egypt

Guinea face a similar situation to Angola. They sit last in their group with two defeats in two games, and they MUST beat high-flying Egypt on Saturday to avoid an early return home.
