Tickets for FIBA AfroBasket 2021 go on sale

 

KIGALI (Rwanda) - Tickets for the upcoming FIBA AfroBasket 2021 that will take place at Kigali Arena are now available, Rwandan Basketball Federation (FERWABA) announced.

The 30th edition of the 16-nation African Championship will take place from August 24 to September 5 in the Rwandan capital city.

According to FERWABA, tickets for the Group Phase starting on August 24-29 are now available on the TiCQest website www.ticqet.rw, the official ticketing partner of the FIBA AfroBasket 2021.

VIP tickets will cost Rwf15,000 ($15) while lower court-side seats will go for Rwf10,000 ($10) and the upper seats will cost Rwf7,000 ($7).

These prices are for daily scheduled games include the cost of a COVID-19 rapid test for those who want to have it taken at Amahoro Stadium, near the Kigali Arena.

In a Press Release, FERWABA outlined the following terms and conditions for fans to be allowed inside the Kigali Arena:

- Spectators are requested to have a mandatory COVID-19 rapid test and present a negative test result valid for 48 hours;

- To have a mandatory vaccination (at least one dose) against COVID-19 for Rwandans;

- For those who are not vaccinated yet,  a vaccination desk will be established for the occasion at Camp Kigali COVID-19 vaccination site;

- Testing will be conducted at Amahoro Stadium but can also be held at accredited private hospitals.

The ticket price is inclusive of the rapid COVID-19 test that is a requirement with the result valid for 48 hours. Testing will be conducted at the Amahoro  National Stadium from 8 am everyday until 7pm.

Tickets are day passes and once one leaves the Kigali Arena premises, their ticket is deemed invalid. 

Day 1 of the FIBA AfroBasket 2021 will see eight teams taking to the court with reigning African champions Tunisia facing Guinea (10:30 am GMT+2) in the opener of the tournament.

Later in the day, Egypt will go up against the Central African Republic (13:30 GMT+2); Rwanda will face neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo at 18:00 GMT+2 and, in the last action of the day, Angola will square off against Cape Verde (21:00 GMT+2).
