MAPUTO (FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018) - What a beautiful day of basketball in the Mozambican capital to launch the much-awaited continental tournament that has attracted 10 teams from Africa!

1. MOZAMBICAN FANS

Hundreds of fans painted the Maxaquene Stadium in green and white colours to support their beloved Lokomotivois against a stubborn Equity Hawks from Kenya.

2. JAMILA NANSIKOMBI

Zama, as she is commonly known back home in Uganda, posted the day's highest points when she dropped an incredible 25 points to inspire the seasoned Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to an 80-58 victory over debutants Lakers from Zimbabwe.

A newbie at this stage, she did not look the part at any one particular moment.

3. FELIZARDA JORGE (INTER CLUBE)

Big moments call for big players and Jorge did that today. From the onset, she was shooting three-pointers, picking rebounds, playing defense in the paint and encouraging her teammates and all this because she really wanted her side to begin on a high note and indeed they achieved their objective.

 

 4. OLD IS GOLD
