Ferroviario de Maputo set date with First Bank in Semi-Final

MAPUTO (FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2018) - Hosts Ferroviario de Maputo booked their spot in the Semi-Finals following a convincing 73-40 win over Kenya Ports Authority on Friday at Maxaquene Stadium in the Mozambican capital.

Anabela Cossa, in her seasoned fine form behind the arc, dropped a game-high 15 points and picked three rebounds as the home side saw off the Kenyan giants who managed just two points in the first quarter.

Cierra Robertson-Warren added 10 points and eight rebounds on a quiet night for her in the paint but even she knows that the road ahead is a more challenging one than what they experienced today from a side that failed to offer much.

KPA's poster girl at the tournament Jamila Nansikombi put up eight points and four assists while teammates Brigid Nanzala Nyongesa and Taudencia Oluoch also managed the same number of points apiece.

The Mombasa-based side were undone by rather a high number of turnovers - 33 in total that were mostly from internal pressure seeing as they looked timid beforehand.

Ferroviario de Maputo will take on Nigerian outfit First Bank -who struggled to secure a 69-66 win over FAP - in the second Semi-Final on Saturday in a battle that is expected to bring out the best in both sides as they battle for a place in the Final.

Earlier in the day Vita Club who stunned fellow Congolese CNSS 70-43 to reach the Last Four in the competition history will go up against continental heavyweights InterClube. The five-time ACCW Winners dismantled the Malagasy side MB2ALL 84-46.
