Draw for Basketball Africa League's 'Elite 16' to take place in Abidjan

ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - The draw for the upcoming 'Elite 16' of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) will take place on Thursday in Abidjan, FIBA Africa confirmed.

The event will precede the FIBA Africa Board meeting and will be attended by FIBA President, Hamane Niang. FIBA Africa President and President of the Board of BAL, Anibal Manave. FIBA Secretary General, Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Africa Executive Director Alphonse Bile, NBA Vice President and President of the BAL, Amadou Gallo Fallo, 

The 16 teams will be divided into two groups (G and H) of eight teams each, and games will take place in Yaounde (Cameroon) and Kigali (Rwanda). 

Group games will take place in Yaounde from November 26 to December 1 while Group H will take place in Kigali from December 17-22.

The teams qualified are: Force Armees Police of Yaounde (Cameroon), Abidjan Basketball Club (Cote d'Ivoire), Mali's AS Police, AS Nigelec (Niger), GSP from Algeria, Manga (Gabon), Patriots (Rwanda), City Oilers (Uganda), Ferroviario de Maputo (Mozambique), GNBC (Madagascar), Kenya Ports Authority (Kenya) and UNZA Pacers from Zambia.

Meanwhile, ASB Mazembe (DR Congo), Al Naser (Libya), Cobra Sports (South Sudan) and JKT (Tanzania) have been awarded wild cards to complete the 'Elite 16' lineup.
