Top 5 Performances from Day 3 of FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019

ANTANANARIVO(Madagascar) - Group D of the FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019 came to a close on Sunday, and Smouha SC clinched a comprehensive win 79-62 over Petro de Luanda to secure the top spot in Group D. 

Here're the top five eye-catching performances from Day 3 of the FIBA ABL 2019 Group D in Palais des Sports Mahamasina.

1. James Justice Jr. (Smouha SC)

Smouha SC’s point guard Justice exceeded expectations. Scoring a game-high 25 points, coupled to a 100 percent success at free-throws (5 out 5), plus 50 percent of accuracy behind the arc (4/8), he made himself available with seven assists. Clearly, the man on the court today.

2. Leonel Paulo (Petro de Luanda)

 Another one who can call it a day with his 24 points and more than 50 percent accuracy at free throws, netting 8 out of 15 attempts. Paulo Leonel  was instrumental for his team, even if Petro de Luanda didn’t end up on the victorious side.

3. Adamu Saaka (Smouha SC)
Saaka's start-off in today’s game against Petro de Luanda earned him respect on the court. The 30-year-old Forward who made all his 4 free throw attempts, finished the day with 12 points. A great day for him and Smouha SC.

4. Gege Kizubanata

The 37 year-old veteran who was very discreet at  beginning, became the leader that ASB Mazembe needed to secure their first win in the tournament. Kizubanata came up with game-high 25 points.

5. Livio Ratianarivo (COSPN)

Livio Ratianarivo, a fan-favorite around here, finally rose up to the occasion, with team-high 15 points. But it was not enough to avoid COSPN's third straight defeat.
