RADES (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) - Angola champions Libolo found themselves down by 17 points, but the resilient former FIBA Africa Champions Cup (ACC) winners fought back to earn an 87-84 triumph over Groupment Sportive Petroliers in Rades, Tunisia.

The win improved Libolo to 2-0 mark in Group B at the ongoing FIBA ACC 2017 while the Algerian champions dropped to 1-1.

Libolo's 52 second-half points proved crucial in a match that GS Petroliers shared the ball better with 11 assists against their opponents' nine.

With Libolos' starting lineup struggling to adjust offensively against the Algerian's defense, perennial Olimpio Cipriano emerged as the game-changer, finishing with a team-high 19 points off the bench.

Mohamed Harat led the Algerians with 25 points and 12 rebounds, but the match belonged to Libolo. 

In fact, Raul Duarte's team had to rely on their bench who outscored the Algerian's 55-11.

In Tuesday's Group B's second game, Mozambique international Helton Ubisse was huge for Ferroviario da Beira who bounced from Monday's 104-89 defeat to GS Petroliers, defeating Nigeria's Gombe Bulls 71.60. 

Ubisse finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Ukraine international Maksym Ivshyn, who sat out the opening game, added 13 points while Gombe Bulls Godwin David contributed a team-high 13 points in their losing cause.  

Meanwhile in the Group's last game of the day, Tunisia's Union Sportive Monastirienne outscored ASB Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo 91-67.

Tuesday's Group A's action opened with Uganda champions City Oilers looking to bounce back from a previous defeat, but Morocco champions Association Sportive Sale weren't prepared to conced their first defeat, winning 91-81.

Although Ugandan international Robinson Opong converted 3 of his 5 three-pointers attempts to finsish with a game-high 23 points, Abderrahim Najah came off the bench to inspire the Moroccans with a team-best 22 points and rebounds. 

In the process, AS Sale extended their winning streak to 2-0 while City Oilers have conceded their second defeat in as many games.

Meanwhile, in Group A's highly anticipated match of the day, Nigeria champions Kano Pillars had a strong start, leading Angola's InterClube by as many four in the opening half.

Nevertheless, InterClube regrouped in time to secure a 94-73 victory, and as a result, improve their mark to 2-0 while Pillars are yet to win a game (0-2).

It was business as usual for hosts Etoile Sportive de Rades who demolished the Democratic Republic of Congo's champions New Generation 108-67.
