FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 Semi-final field complete

RADES (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) – Association Sportive Sale, Sport Libolo e Benfica, Etoile Sportive Rades and Union Sportive Monastir all booked their place in the Semi-Finals of the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 in Rades, Tunisia.

Mohamed Harat came up with game-high 34-point, but this was not enough to save his side Groupement Sportif des Petroliers from defeat as hosts Etoile Sportive de Rades fought off a first quarter three-point deficit to snatch a two-point victory 89-87 to seal a Semi-Final ticket.

ES Rades strong ability to go all the way backed by home crowd gained a point when they won the second quarter 26-25 and drew level in the third 24-24 but smoothen the rough edges with a 23-19 points win in the last quarter for the all-important win over the Algerian champions.

Dustin Charles Salisbery sparked ES Rades with team-best 26-points. His four of his teammates including Averon Kelvin Mathew, Mohamed Hadidane and Omar Abada poured in 13 points apiece.

On the other hand, two other GS Petroliers players Adrar Mustapha and Nicholas Covington combined for 26 points.

Sport Libolo e Benfica emerged victorious of the Angola derby as they edged Grupo Desportivo InterClube de Luanda 71-67 points in a gritty encounter.

Andre Harris, Jekel Reshard Foster and Francisco De Sousa proved crucial as the combined for 34 points in their winning cause.

In the first Quarter-Final tie Moroccan side Association Sportive Sale had an easy ride over Ferroviario da Beira of Mozambique 92-63.

Moroccan International Abderrahim Najah was in superb form with a double double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Yacine Baeri and Abdelhakim Zouita added 16 points apiece while Soufiane Kourdou and Shamba Munanga recorded 11 and 10points in that order.

The last Quarter-Final duel saw tournament favorites Union Sportive Monastir of Tunisia defeated hard fighting City Oilers of Uganda 96-71 to secure the last Semi-Final spot.

US Monastir forward Evariste Shonganya led his team quest to remain undefeated with great performance as he sunk game-high 27 points, and 9 rebounds. Point guard Kyle Vinales poured in 15 points, 7 rebound and 7 assist While Bechir Hadidane contributed 14 points.

Earlier in the day Kano Pillars saw off Gombe Bulls 71-67 while ASB Mazembe handed ASB New Generation an 82-62 loss in the 9-12 classification games.
