Reigning champions held off Angola’s efforts in a solo run in the Maxaquene Arena, boosted by noisy fans.

Assetou Sissoko and her teammate had an easy day on the court, as they took a 44-25 lead at half time break. Once again, Sissoko led the way as she recorded game high 20 points, and picked 11rebounds.

In the day's first clash, Democratic Republic of Congo struggled to overcome a pugnacious Ugandan side 48-42.

The Junior Gazelles led all the way from the start, only to be overtaken in the third quarter, and literally collapsing in the last  round, netting only 2 points in the final 10 minutes.

In their Friday's Quarter-final, Uganda  - who are yet to win a game in the tournament will face off heavyweights Mozambique. The hosts have made a big statement by recording a 3-0 mark.
