Top 5 Performances from Day 2 of the #FIBAU18Africa 2018

BAMAKO (FIBA U18 African Championship 2018) - Two days into the FIBA U18 African Championship 2018, and five performances haven't unnoticed.

Here is a recap, in no particular order, of the top 5 performances.

Rwanda

Watch out, Rwanda are in the town!

Just 24 hours after establishing an event record of eleven three-pointers in an 81-63 triumph over Algeria, Rwanda clinched their second straight win in Bamako. This time, Rwanda knocked down title contender Tunisia 62-58.

And much of Rwanda's success so far is owed to Jean de Dieu Umuhoza, who came up with yet another stellar display, finishing with a game-high 19 points.

Pierre Kasereka (DR Congo)

Point guard Kasereka was fundamental in Friday's 81-63 victory over Uganda, and, on, Saturday, he made sure to spark his country in a nailbiting 73-69 success against Libya.

After converting three of his seven three-pointers attempts against Uganda to finish with a game-high 23 points on Friday, Kasereka added 18 points to his personal account.

He was backed by Jordan Mbaki,  Heritier Tshiyoyo Ngalamulume and Kevin Keliki who combined for 47 Congolese points.

Dominant Egypt

The Pharaohs made a statement of their FIBA U18 African Championship 2018 intentions after trouncing Guinea 111-61, a triumph that comes on the back of a 115-38 demolition of Libya on Friday.

The runners-up of the 2016 edition of the African Championship look ambitious and determined to regain the continental crown.

Senegal knock down champions

Making their first FIBA U18 African Championship appearance since 2012, title contender Senegal couldn't have done any better.

Trailing by as many as 20 points, Senegal stunned reigning champions Angola 77-76 on the back of Cheikh Diop and Amar Sylla who finished with a double-double each.

Cheikh Diop (Senegal)

While Angola tried any means to stop Diop, the 17-year-old responded with an impressive performance from the charity stripe, making 8 of his 10 free-throw attempts. And to complete his stellar display, the small forward added 10 rebounds to his account.
