Kanoute wins FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2018 Shoot-Out Contest

LOME (FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2018) – A new Shootout champion has emerged and he is N’Faly Kanoute of Mali.

He turned out the best after finishing tied in the first round of shots at 6 apiece with Sarah Ageno (Uganda) in a contest that saw Egypt’s Rana Abdelzaher scoring 5.

In the second round, Kanoute scored 7 of his shots and Ageno could only score 3.

After winning gold at the Shoot-out contest,  Kanoute talked to fiba.basketball:
“Coming to Togo, the main target Mali had as a team was to go beyond the Quarter-Final stage but unfortunately we did not go beyond that. However, winning the Shootout contest has come as a big compensation for me.”

“I must give credit to FIBA for introducing the Shootout contest. It adds colour to the game and gives players an opportunity to showcase their shooting skills. I’m glad that I won and thank my teammates for their encouragement.”
